The Seminar on Construction and Management of Open Platforms for Developing Countries in Shanghai Business School was Successfully Completed

On September 25th, the closing ceremony of seminar on construction and management of open platforms (free trade zones, development zones, special customs supervision zones, high-tech development zones, international industrial cooperation parks & overseas economic cooperation parks) for developing countries sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and undertaken by the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) in Shanghai Business School, commenced with resounding success. Chen Wei, executive vice deans of College of International Education of Shanghai Business School, and deputy director of the MOFCOM Training Base for International Business Officials (Shanghai) attended the ceremony, and Fan Daoan, the expert representative and the general manager of Shanghai Jijian Management Consulting Co., Ltd.

In recent years, China has actively promoted the construction of an open platform, and has made remarkable achievements and accumulated rich experience in the construction and management of free trade zones, development zones, special customs supervision zones, high-tech development zones, international industrial cooperation parks & overseas economic cooperation parks. At the same time, we have laid a solid foundation for building "the Belt and Road " with high quality, upholding the principle of wide consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, consolidating the foundation of interconnection and cooperation, and steadily expanding new areas of cooperation.

Mr. Chen Wei is speaking

Mr. Chen Wei said that how to exert the superposition effect of policies and how to form spillover or radiation effect of various open platforms, so as to drive the development of export-oriented economy in other regions, has become a topic worth studying. He hoped that while mastering the theory and practice of open platform construction and management, all the participants would also think about this topic and make greater contributions to the open platform construction and economic development of their respective countries.

This seminar received positive feedback from participants. Ms. Anastanthia Ndlovu, Director of Economic Affairs Department of Zimbabwe Democratic League, said that this seminar held by Shanghai Business School is of great significance. She expressed sincere and heartfelt thanks to SBS for thoughtful arrangement. She said that in the past three weeks, participants were sharpened in their appreciation of the important role that open platforms such as Free Trade Zones, Development Zones, Special Customs Supervision Zones, High-Tech Development Zones, etc play in sustainable economic development in general & promotion of trade and investment in particular for developing countries.

This seminar lasts for 21 days, with 38 participants from 12 countries including Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Cuba, Cameroon, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, Pakistan, Tunisia and Tajikistan.
